Life on a Stage
ANYONE can act in a movie or a play, regardless of their age, ethnicity, gender, and lifestyle. There is absolutely no typecasting allowed. Any character can play any role, and that is usually determined by directors. It is suggested that each actor and actress put a bit of their original and natural selves in the role. Make them become the role, and add in quirks of your character to the character they are trying to pose as. For example, if there is an Alfred acting as Harry Potter, the Harry Potter will have more 'American' characteristics. It is also suggested that names are different for every project, just so that it gets less confusing. The job of actors and actresses is to make the project come alive through your writing. Play with styles, and more importantly, play with different interpretations of the country the character represents. Reveal another side of your character, and perhaps put some historical allusions to each role they take. Of course, you do not have to; you can do whatever you think is fun. Please do not make your characters fill too many roles in different films. It is suggested that your character partakes in one film at a time. Movies require your utmost devotion because the goal of each film is to finish it. Consider this if you feel tempted to take another major role. In addition, there is a new concept available for your use. Provisional characters or interims are temporary characters you can take for ONE specific movie. For example, if a director requires an African woman, and there happens to be no African women character taken, you are free to apply for a provisional character. These are temporary characters, meant for you to experiment with different muses or fill in a role that is needed by a director. Provisional characters are NOT allowed to use any canon designs (for Nyos or for original designs by Himaruya). They must be original, and they must belong uniquely belong to you. You do not need any prior experience with rping as a provisional character. If your director thinks that your interim is fitting for the role, then they will take you in. Yet, your provisional character strictly exists in that movie or project. Once the project is done, you can either apply for the actual character (if it is available) or you can request to have your interim hired to be in a different project. Maximum use of a provisional character is 2 projects. Any confusion about anything explained will be covered here in the FAQ section. Ready to reserve and apply? Complete the application and post it with your IC account in the pending section of the auditions. Once it is passed, you will receive an IC interview, just so we can see the voice of your character! This is meant to be fun, so don't stress out--still, make sure to try to impress! |
