Francis has stubble embellishing his chin. He is very fond of it, and rarely shaves it off unless the part he is playing requires it.
He seems taller in films than he actually is in real life. Many people are often surprised by this.
He has a more lanky figure rather than muscular; a good body type for modeling.
He wears contacts for almost on occasions -- sometimes he wears glasses, but it's a rare sight to see. It depends on the day for the most part, and most people don't know he has a prescription.

Act 2
Personality
Francis is a person who is often, unfortunately, misjudged by people. This is most likely due to the first impressions he gives off; he is a man who believes fully in leaving a flawless first impression on others during initial meetings, and it is a perpetual cruel twist of fate that he often leaves the worst first impressions on people by seeming too flirtatious, too vain, or too flamboyant. He is a charmer – always managing to find something beautiful about a person, whether it is a physical attribute, a part of their personality, or a special skill they may possess – he firmly advocates that everybody is beautiful in their own unique way.Despite what most people believe, he is not a pervert who lusts after everyone and anyone for no reason or because he is “addicted to sex”. He is naturally a romantic (it comes with his French blood), and believes in wooing and courting the person of his affection. He takes pleasure in helping others be together, and may meddle slightly to ensure people find the one they can be truly happy with. He’s the big brother sort of type, the kind who you can go to for advice about anything; romance in particular. He’s more than happy to help anyone in any way he can, if possible. He’s quite protective of the ones he cares about; especially as if sees you as a close friend, or even as a sibling figure.
Also despite the contrary belief, Francis is not a saint. There’s also a point where he snaps and breaks after enduring as much as he could, and cannot bear anymore insults or assumptions. He’s human, just like everyone else, and has a limited amount of patience. Francis doesn't appreciate negative comments no matter how innocent they may have intended to be, and dislikes it when people badmouth others. He'll typically dismiss a conversation badmouthing a person he knows. He’s normally quite a gentleman and still believes chivalry isn't dead, especially to the female population, but he’s just as much to the male side as well. He fully believes anyone and everyone can be, and is, beautiful.
Francis has a minor jealousy problem. It's one of his most fatal flaws. He constantly praises and compliments others about their beauty, for who they are and occasionally aids in their love life if asked or needed. But he also has a want to be complimented too, and praising others so grandly typically makes him feel worse about himself. Quite often, he’s envious about how great and incredible others are, while he appears lesser and nothing in comparison. He tends to hide it very well, and very few people actually know of his true feelings about the matter. His envy stretches to further lengths of seeing other people's happiness in comparison -- wishing he didn't, but unable to do anything about it. He's always happy to see others happy, but sometimes it comes at a cost. But a feeling of resent comes with this; he just can't help it, but Francis wants to be cherished in the way he is cherishing others. He has high standards for people, ideal ones, and is still struggling to grow accustomed to that not everyone is going to act the way he would like them to. The form of his resentment can come as irate snapping, seemingly unprovoked -- but it's likely it's something that's been stirring around within for a while. This should not be taken personally.
His charms are most certainly one of his strong points. He's rather suave and urbane, and appears as one who is constantly flirting with anyone he converses with; which is really not always the case. Francis is what people would call an “extensive lover”, with his way of speaking. He does not like, nor dislike the term. He considers himself polyamorous, as he can love multiple people at once, and believes in all forms of love (except for forced love), He has had a large record of one-night stands. However, every single person he has ever spent one night with is important and special to him. He doesn't forget faces, and is quite skilled at recognizing people. But he hopes the day will come when he’s finally able to have a lover of his own soon – a person who loves him, and is willing to stay no matter what happens.
His charms can also be used in a more sinister way; Francis isn't against utilizing manipulation if he believes people are doing something morally wrong. Seduction is a possibility, using honeyed words and lidded eyes to persuade others into doing what he wants them to -- but he doesn't usually resort to this. Francis typically uses it as a last resort, or with a person who is particularly stubborn and he knows there's no other option. Depending on who he's conversing with, his kind smiles can be sincere -- or they can be lovely simpers to disarm you.
Francis is the type who would be extremely pleased if his feelings of love and affection were ever to be requited. He’s one who feels love very powerfully, and his affections are strong. He often gives kisses to show affection, but rarely are they what he considers a kiss of true love. It can make him the happiest man in the world if he finds out the person he likes returns his feelings, although he may not show it publicly (by unconsciously slipping into his usual flirtatious mode).
Having no tolerance for people are cruel and dishonest to their fellow humans and enjoy other people's pain, Francis abhors abuse and adultery. He refuses to stand by and merely watch as wrongdoing occurs, and he will interfere to help the person who is being harmed. His morals are relatively strong, but aren't as present in comparison to others. If he's aware of adultery happening, he will intervene and end it. Francis cannot bear people who are dishonest to the ones where there should be a strong bond of trust.
Francis's absolute fatal flaw is his desire to protect his loved ones. They are his weakness. If faced with a decision to save a crowd of strangers or one he's close to, he will inevitably pick the latter. He's selfish for this reason. He cannot bear to part with the ones he deeply cares for and will go to extreme measures to ensure this doesn't happen. He made the decision of not choosing his loved one once before -- he does not plan on making the same mistake ever again.
Quirks
►has a prominent french accent ;; Francis is actually capable of speaking without the accent, but he chooses to anyways. He believes it adds to the appeal of being considered a foreigner.►bilingual ;; he is able to speak two languages -- French and English. French is his native language which he takes pride in, and he can speak English as well.
►unable to wake up early ;; or, more specifically, if he's woken up any other way than naturally by himself, he'll be in a bad mood. He does not like it when people disrupt his rest.
►endearments ;; Francis constantly uses endearments, whether in English or French. It's become a habit of his, and he always uses them, regardless of who he's talking to.
►dislikes dirty talk ;; he genuinely does not like dirty talk. He understands everyone has their likes and kinks, but he personally feels uncomfortable with it.
Act 3
Likes ✔ romance ;; Francis adores all aspects of romance and is a romantic among romantics. The countless stories throughout humanity's existence of love are always beautiful, built upon romanticism and as cliche as it sounds, the power of love and what it can do for people. Emotions are a critical part of humans and their lives -- love, extremely prominent -- and he finds it all fascinating. He likes the notion of people being able to be in each other's company, offering solace and comfort, and the image of two hands, entwined together.✔ beauty ;; he loves anything and everything beautiful -- which is, essentially, the world. Francis can see the beauty in nearly everything he lays eyes on, and he appreciates what he sees -- whether it's physical, personality, or anything else that it could possibly be. He's drawn to beauty like ants to sugar, and he enjoys savoring the beauty he finds. ✔ giving advice ;; he has a bad habit of interfering with other people's problems, but he has good intentions. Francis likes being able to help people by offering them advice -- usually romantic -- but it can come in any other forms too. It's part of his natural tendency to take on the role of a big brother figure, and he can't help but to offer assistance with a problem if he hears about one. ✔ cooking ;; a favorite past time of his. Francis is a creative person in his own right, and his most successful way of expressing himself is most certainly cooking. He takes great pleasure in making something -- creating something, and then being able to serve it those he loves. He thinks the best part of the whole procedure is being able to watch people enjoy his food and smiling. ✔ gardening ;; also a hobby he enjoys. As a child, he liked to tend to flowers and observe their growth daily. He's fluent in the language of flowers, and loves how they all mean and represent different messages. Currently, he has a garden and likes to take walks through it with his companions for relaxing and just to talk. His favorite flowers are roses. ✔ physical affection ;; Francis is a very affectionate person -- and one who enjoys receiving affection returned. His personal preference is to be able to show his love for those he cares about by being able to pat their head or back, hugging them, or giving them a kiss on the forehead or cheek. He's a very open man with his love and hands it out just as openly -- but that doesn't make it mean any less. ✔ endearments ;; particularly French endearments. Like how Francis is fond of displaying affection for those close to him with physical contact, endearments are another form of affection. Words are powerful, depending on how a person uses them -- and he chooses to use them with cherishment for his loved ones. ✔ wine ;; it's nice to enjoy a quiet evening with a bottle of wine. He drinks it most nights, usually only having a glass or two with dinner, and is relatively good at identifying wines. He isn't a connoiseur, really, but may be considered by others to be. ✔ fashion ;; he likes to keep up with the latest trends. Fashion is a way of personal expression, and allows people to demonstrate the sort of person who they are with their own style. It's another romanticized notion of his. Under the category of advice giving, fashion is included -- Francis loves helping people to be able to express themselves in a physical sense too. ✔ poetry ;; the way that words can be used to form sentences, to paragraphs, to chapters, to books, and to more has always intrigued Francis. Words can be molded to create something truly alluring and wonderful, and poetry is his favorite genre of writing -- particularly prose poetry. They're small fragments of potential that drag you in, mesmerizing you, before cutting you right off at the end, wanting more. It's a lovely cycle Francis doesn't mind being trapped in. ✔ intellectual conversation ;; having small talk and mundane conversation is perfectly fine, but Francis particularly enjoys having deeper talks. He doesn't really think of himself as philosophical, but anyone else might say otherwise. Conversations of how the world came to be, how humans came into existence, of emotions, human nature, equality, hypocrisy, and any other topic that comes up related. He always likes those conversations the best. ✔ france ;; the land and the culture are beautiful. It possesses its own endearing charm that causes many to come and visit throughout every season of the year. He's particularly proud that it's known as the country of love, and loves everything about France. He prefers his native language over all others, and as a result, often slips French words into his normal speaking patterns. He doesn't do it in an overabundance as to annoy people, but he just adores the way the words roll of his tongue. | Dislikes ✖ unfaithful people ;; Francis does not condone adultery. He refuses to partake in anything related with it. Love is a bond of trust between people, and that trust is violated if infidelity occurs. If he sees such blasphemy, he'll put a stop to it.✖ flaws ;; simply put, he's a perfectionist. Francis doesn't like making mistakes or having blemishes. Flaws are imperfections, and therefore irritates him. He's quite aware they're impossible not to have, but they're still universally present; which is really irksome. ✖ ignorance ;; he prefers to converse with people who observe and are acutely aware of their surroundings. He dislikes ignorant people and those who are too egotistical or obnoxious to be truly intelligent. He also dislikes when they have the opportunity to be smart and still choose not to. ✖ purchasing cheap things ;; this is most certainly a personal preference -- many people are usually the opposite. Francis doesn't like appearing to be cheap by barely spending any money, and prefers to use his wealth generously. He treats people often as possible to gifts and going out, and likes spending money on people. ✖ limitations ;; Francis doesn't like being restricted. Being an empathetic person, he dislikes it when other people are limited as well -- one particular reason he cannot stand the lack of equality, and people being suppressed. It angers him every time he thinks about it, resulting in frustration, and further causes him to strive for equality of people everywhere. |
Aspirations ► finding a true love ;; he is not living in a fairy tale, and he knows reality from films. But romance is in his blood, and he wants to find a person who is an ideal match for him. ► becoming a famous actor ;; although Francis is somewhat known for his work, he is not completely recognized. Like many of the brilliant and beautiful actors and actresses before him, he strives to be known specifically for his work and loved for his skills. Perhaps a bit egotistical, but it's a dream of his. ► to be admired and looked up to ;; in Francis's opinion, one of the greatest compliments you can receive is "I look up to you". He wants to be able to touch people's hearts with sincere messages in his movies, and achieve some change in the world with it. | Insecurities ► arguments ;; a person who tends to shy away from conflict, Francis has a strong aversion to arguments. He tends to try to soothe over any rough patches and is more likely to sweep things under the rug if that will solve an on-going issue.► losing those he cares about ;; when Francis becomes attached to someone, he is deeply attached. The ones he loves are the most important to him -- more than anything else in the world has to offer -- and he's fearful of losing people who are precious to him. Francis centers his life around the people he becomes enamored with; only a select group, but not necessarily a small one. The possibility he can lose those who he loves is the most terrifying to him of all. ► rejection ;; rejection of his feelings cuts deeper than any physical wound ever could. Loving somebody is a risk, and can be very painful -- but rejection is the worst of all. Francis has never been one to be shy about his feelings, but it doesn't mean it hurts any less when somebody rejects him. He's actually quite sensitive, especially when it's emotional pain. He won't show it initially, but it's likely he'll spend a long time crying in private. |
Epilogue
Background
Francis was the second child to the Bonnefoy family, born in Paris, France. His elder sister, Elaine, and he were very close as children and remain so even today. Their sibling bond was unusually strong, and their sibling rivalry was during only a short expanse of time. They enjoyed playing dress-up together when young, and their father and mother being a model and a seamstress respectively only served to encourage their games. He grew up under the influence of beauty, and became proud of his family and their good looks from a very young age. The Bonnefoys were indeed a handsome family, and many envied their natural beauty. Francis took after his father and tried out for modeling at the age of fourteen, while at the same time, Elaine learned to sew and had a particularly strong interest in fashion design. The siblings were a good pair, and followed relatively closely in their parents' footsteps.
The Bonnefoy family moved to the United States of America when their parents were offered bigger work, and Francis accustomed easily to the move. People were taken by his accent, and he found himself enjoying the attention.
Modeling was quickly a success for Francis, and he began to rise in popularity in magazines. His career, starting as a teenager, had easily taken off. After two years of posing for the cameras and strutting down a runway with confidence, Francis found his interest piqued at the prospect of acting. He had found it fun when younger, and auditioned for a more minor role in a teenage romantic comedy film. He received the part, and his acting career began from there.
After a few movies during a few successful years, Francis was attending a party when he met Arthur Kirkland. He had admittedly been a bit inebriated, and had gotten a little touchy with the man -- before accidentally spilling his drink on him. It's not surprising to say that their relationship did not start on a good foot.
He hadn't expected to see him again; but sure enough, he did only a month later in the next film he had received a part in. It was rocky until Francis could convince Arthur that he was a decent person when not drunk, and it was only then a tentative friendship began. They got to know each other during the months of filming, and their relationship became much more steady. It was then when Francis had realized there was attraction for Arthur, and it didn't take long for him to accept that he had a crush on the Brit.
He played it cool in the beginning; not wanting to ruin their current friendship. Subtle flirting here and there, brushing a moment longer than necessary once in a while. Nothing too big or obvious, but little hints every once and a while. That, of course, all changed when Arthur made the first definitive move, and Francis threw that right out the window.
They began dating shortly after. Following that, Elaine and her fiancee's wedding took place. It was a joyous occasion, and a very good year for Francis. His sister was very happy, and he was pleased to see that. It was interesting that both he and Elaine had been drawn to British partners, of all people -- he had once joked about it, noting their similar tastes.
A few years passed, and Francis and Arthur are still together, dating steadily. There have been, of course, been a few rough patches; but that's to be expected in every relationship, and they have worked past them together. They recently began living together.
During this time, Francis encouraged his cousin Sebastian "Vash" Zwingli to get into modeling and acting. He had a definite interest in the latter, but Francis knew Vash would be extremely successful in modeling; the only thing was that he was self-conscious of his body. Francis took to convincing Vash that he was beautiful and insisted upon it perpetually. It was true -- he was stunning, and had a lot of potential. It was ultimately up to Vash, obviously, but he did his best to encourage him and pursue his dreams.
Most of the roles Francis plays are nearly always romance -- but that is his preferred genre, and it is certainly his best. A few other occasional genres he participated in are comedy and action. He enjoys all of the work immensely, and has met a great deal of interesting people; he expects to meet many more in the future.
