Act 2
Personality
Nicoleta is a mysterious woman who hides her motives with a coquettish smile. Proud, whimsical, and domineering, she makes herself an easy person to hate. Edgy, callous, and gussied up in blacks and greys, she is the real life witch.
Her magic is in her silken words with ease. The false charms and passions are honey traps. Her nails are as black as poison, pointed, claw-like as an attribute of the lynx. Despite her facade and fashion choices, there is a heart beneath the witch's skin. There lies a loving and melancholy pulse, and a soul of a woman who yearns for a truer meaning than the lies she had spun.
Aaaaat least that's how Hollywood portrays her! In short, Nicoleta just a very mischievous and curious person. She can be funny and childish too, especially during group interviews. During personal interviews, she's more reserved and guarded, less prone to fooling around unless the question is silly. She's got a pretty smile, a pretty laugh--oh, she likes cats too! Yes she's scary and she likes to think she is intimidating, but Nicoleta doesn't take things too far unless she's challenged.
+ Wild: There's an untamed spirit that drives her nature on the edge of the wires. Nicoleta is a go-getter, and a reckless woman who thrives for the next high. She is addicted to the touch of passion, and the dangerous thrill of what goes on during the night. Anyone around her will be dragged into the fiery idea of fun before moment's notice. It will take a lot to be able to domesticate the Lynx, and she won't go down without a fight either. This mindset bolsters her sense of independence, self-control, and the belief that only she can reign over her own lifestyle.
+ Eccentric: Nicoleta amuses herself by fawning over strange, macabre things. The tell-tale sign of her unique tastes can especially be seen in her dark and risqué clothing style. Her excitement bubbles over a variety of dark topics. Ghost stories, the paranormal, and gruesome tales are her personal favorite. Her haunting collection is not family friendly, that is for sure.
+ Playful: For such an intense woman, Nicoleta loves to laugh. Her favorite kind of humor is dark humor--the kind that drips into your head and flushes the color off of your pretty complexion. She starts off very subtle at first. If she were to find that you too have a penchant for dark humor, then her jokes will progressively get more morbid.
+ Kittenish: On her good sides, the best of her playfulness is in her affectionate, touchy, and sultry persona. A couple of kisses, bodily friction, wine, and a joyride are the recipe for her mirth. She is very passionate about what she loves and whomever she loves. One would notice how much harder she will try to hide her vices around people she admires.
+ Protective: To be honest, Nicoleta doesn't have many friends. She loses friends because of her apathetic nature, and it makes it hard for her to become attached or loyal to anyone. However, she treasures the little pool of friends she has, and she will do all she can to protect them or stand by their side.
+ Confident: Doubt is not in her state of mind. After all, she knows that she's good, and this belief has helped her through many tribulations. Fortunately for many, she doesn't boast as loudly as one might think. However, she's not immune to being cocky. There are times when her confidence seeps too much into her actions. Therefore, her gusto might either fascinate you, or irritate the hell out of you.
+ Hard-working: Despite her perpetual tardiness, Nicoleta always finds a job for one good reason: her diligence. She gives a lot of effort in her passions and the jobs that she fancies. Nicoleta can surprisingly adapt to work that she has little interest in as long as she has a good reason behind doing it. The only downside is that her kind of diligence comes with some complaining. She lets out her stress by complaining to a friend or just releasing it through the gym.
On the job, however, she do what she was hired for, 100%. On the flip side, if she thinks the work is utter shit, she'll just leave. This bitch doesn't beat around the bush so don't expect her to do what she doesn't want to do.
+ Sociable: Not quite a social butterfly but not quite a loner either, Nicoleta stands somewhere in between being labeled an introvert and an extrovert. She's not good with small-talk because she is more of a practical conversationalist--she speaks to people when she needs them. She answers questions and then asks 'why' for their purpose. To fully bring out the sociable side of her, the person must delve into a topic about her passions. Nicoleta will undoubtedly contribute to the conversation, which helps her make quick bonds with the people who share her interests.
+/- Witty: Her breaths are filled with wisecrack and sarcasm. Nicoleta is capable of filtering and being careful about her words, but her wit will always give her tone an edge. Clever words accompany the archly smirk, and her eyes give off the gleam with every deliverance. Her quips give her an air of moral ambiguity and mystery, occasionally troubling her company with the looming possibility that she knows something they don't.
There will be occasions when 'witty' becomes plainly 'sassy'. She's a spitfire when she's feeling slighted, and she won't stop until you are humiliated.
- Deceitful: Lying is one skill that she unfortunately can't boast about. It would deserve boasting if that didn't go against the purpose of lying. Nicoleta takes advantage of her gift by immorally using it as her weapon, carving herself into an image of success by the beguiling others. Things like lying and (small-scale) stealing just comes naturally to her, and she thinks nothing of it.
- Antagonistic: Like anyone, Nicoleta has a lot of personal facets in her attributes. She may be kind at one point, and suddenly cold at another. With her appearance and confidence, it might be no surprise to anyone that she is often labeled as 'a bitch'. In short, she will be really fucking mean if she wants to. A grudge-holder and a schemer, she will try to give you a destruction that is appropriate to your degree of insult. Whenever she bites, she bites to kill.
- Selfish: Nicoleta may defend herself by calling herself 'opportunistic'. She strongly believes that she is self-sufficient. Her independence molded her this mindset to always 'reap the benefits for herself'. With that said, she will take a good opportunity for herself at any cost.
- Fickle: Extraordinarily picky, Nicoleta has a standard for everything in her life. She judges he friends, family, food dishes, and even herself to a great degree. When something does not really meet her standards, she will certainly act detached to it. She makes it very clear when she is not pleased with something.
- Guarded: Nicoleta easily gets annoyed by nosy people. She has a habit of pushing away people who try to 'really get to know her'. She's proud of her mystique, and seldom opens herself up for anyone to 'figure out her weaknesses'. In other words, she's trapped in this little paranoia that she will be oppressed by someone who takes advantage of her weaknesses. It's only logical; she tries to do the same towards other people, and she's afraid of someone who is exactly like her.
Slowly, she will open up in time. Expressing her genuine feelings will be less difficult when the relationship bond is strong.
- Manipulative: Nicoleta will do anything to see people struggle in the grip of her puppet strings. She may be sweet and loving before she takes the prey by the neck and snaps them in half--that is, if their use is exhausted. She has a habit of viewing people as expendable playing pieces. It's something she is aware of, and sometimes a bit of guilt kicks in. She's slowly trying to stop, but she still continues to prioritize people by their uses.
+/- Metacognitive: One last thing to save face. Nicoleta is aware of all of her misdeeds and vices, but she isn't doing anything about it because she doesn't really know how. She is not surprised by her sordid persona and how other people view her, yet she can't wrap her mind out of how beneficial these immoral traits have been. Her success was paved by the failure of others, and she can't stop in fear of becoming a tile in someone else's pathway.
The woman needs a bit of help, but she is too stubborn to look for one. She's gradually become more conscientious, but it is too slow for her to notice.
Quirks
By habit, she rubs the back or the side of her neck whenever she blushes. Mind you, the blushing doesn't happen often. Her signature make-up style is the black cat-eyed eyelinder. Lip color varies, from dark purples to maroons.
Nicoleta is nocturnal. This vamp hates the mornings and loves staying up late at night. Her whole circadian rhythm is messed up and there is no fixing it. Unless she had some bomb ass sex sometime during the day--that usually fixes things.
As mentioned before, she is always late, even by the minutes. It is worse during the early morning. She is absolutely not a morning person, and though she will get up if she has to, she will loathe every minute of her awakening. There's a good chance she'll be very late if the appointment lands during her usual sleeping hours.
Nicoleta likes to take free samples, especially the free bread at certain restaurants. Her friends had joked that it is 'stealing', but she had replied that she only takes advantage of what's free in the world. Who can blame her! It's free, for heaven's sake.
Black is always in. Her sense of fashion exists in greyscale. She likes the colors burgundy and some shades of red, purple, and dark undertones of any other color. However, she believes that she looks better in black.
She really likes puns, no matter how stupid! New puns make her smile somehow, either with disappointment or with good humor. You won't be able to tell unless she actually calls it 'stupid' while chuckling.

Aspirations Grow out of her inner emotional conflict: Nicoleta's carries her emotional turmoil wherever she goes. As an exceptional liar, she managed to trick herself into thinking that everything is alright. Still, there's more to be learned. As a grown woman, Nicoleta dares to shed off insecurities.Develop a purpose in life: Right now, life is all fun and games to her. She's stringing up people, playing with the lesser minded like how cats do with mice. However, Nicoleta that she is more than just a slave to her own whims. She wants to devote herself to something more pure. Become an icon: Money is important, sure. Fame, quite. But to be an icon--that is quite something else. Nicoleta wants people to love her. She wants everyone to love her. Happiness: Happiness comes and goes for her. She's foreign to the idea of a perpetual state of happiness. Nicoleta craves for it, and she longs for it. Yet, she is imprisoned by her own greed and pride. | Insecurities Overshadowed: She has been overshadowed for most of her life. Nicoleta admits that she hates it, but she'll never admit how much it hurts her.Helplessness: Nicoleta hates feeling weak. All of her insecurities make her feel weak, and naturally, she hates that too. She thinks that she has earned the strength she has garnered. Therefore, she refuses to accept her weaknesses--an act that is ironically her greatest weakness. Imperfection: She has been looked down for too long because of her imperfections. Nicoleta hates it. It's not the words of others that hurt her as much as she hurts herself. Nicoleta is extremely hard on herself when it comes to failure. Heartache: When she loves someone, she will devote herself too them. Nothing hurts more--mentally or physically--than to be a part of a one-sided love. Constant disapproval: She is afraid of rejection, and she masks it with her bitter ire. This is coupled with her insecurity about being flawed; this makes her beat herself up over it. Note that it is not self-pity; she rather obsesses on improving. Fear of becoming willingly docile: A woman of such dominant mindsets is constantly wary about letting anyone take advantage of her. Nicoleta will never permit anyone to make a slave out of her, even her own emotions. That is why it is difficult for her to fall in love. She despises the stupidity of lovers. Afraid of someone 'figuring her all out': Nicoleta may be brash and reckless, but when it comes to her a game of the mind, she has walls and walls layered up. So, for someone to figure out her motives, plans, and insecurities would be as painful as knives. The truth a blade, the kinds that will kill her while keeping her alive. |
Epilogue
Background
Young Nicoleta was often referred to as ‘Lenuta’, a pet name of ‘Ileana’. Lenuta was a curious, clever, and spirited young girl, born in an extensive family of five siblings. Lenuta was the sixth child, a number that was too large for a little girl. Superstition made her the unluckiest one, the least well-liked child in the bevy of siblings of half-siblings.Though curious and spirited, she was not very daring. Truth was in the opposite; she was shy, quiet, and very cautious. When she outgrew the diaper and tiny black Mary-Jane slippers, the child felt perpetually situated in the shadows of her siblings. She was always pushed around, and left in the dark with most situations. Lenuta had always cried about how unfair it was, but her cries were almost never heard or acknowledged.
Family life was difficult, to say the least. Her mother, once a proud and intelligent Ph.D who served in the Romanian army, succumbed to alcoholism while her father was overprotective and uncompromising. Her parents had issues, and that ultimately passed some issues to Lenuta. While growing up, she developed a ‘dark’ sense of self, an affinity for immorality, and a flesh eating pessimistic state of mind. To make matters worse, Lenuta’s father told her much about the real world, and that she should fear it.
Despite living in perpetual caution, Lenuta needed to delve into adventures somehow, and she did that through books. A good chunk of her childhood revolved around books, and the characters she read about helped shape her personality. She was most fascinated by the dynamics of female personas; some female characters were strong and some were weak, yet all of them had a place in their respective stories. It made her wonder what kind of girl she really was, and who she wanted to be.
Needless to say, she admired the cunning females--the ones that always got what the want. Those women were intelligent, cunning, and mysterious--seductive and loved, they always got what they wanted. They were perfect. Lenuta decided that she wanted to try to embody these women in order to suppress the weaknesses she felt she had. She didn't want to be a crybaby or a weakling that people felt like they needed to protect or push around. In school, she practiced closing herself by holding back all of her tears, and producing a facade of confidence and center. This helped her earn her adult-like poise and maturity, but as a trade-off, she grew more pessimistic.
Over time, she took on her mom's offer at being a gymnast. Lenuta took the shot because she fancied the idea of 'Catwoman-like'. In the gymnasium, she honed a good chunk of her talents and qualities on the iron bars. With struggle and practice, grace and strength fell in her area of finesse, and her pride bloomed with her girlhood. Her confidence went up a bit, but she was still held back by her low-esteem about her figure and her intelligence.
At this time, Lenuta preferred to be called ‘Nicoleta’ by her family members and her peers, feeling that her first name sounded stronger. She indeed became stronger--physically, however. Despite her facade and growing self confidence, Nicoleta still felt bitter towards most of the world she lived in. Inwardly, she felt as if she was always used by someone else or overshadowed by some imaginary standard she could never get. Regardless, she carried on, sulking behind her smiles. Nicoleta never really felt wholesome since the day she decided to embody those females of fiction.
A late bloomer, her womanly figure formed at 18. This excited her, as she was becoming more and more like the image of a person she had always wanted. With her matured physical appearance, and some forced mental alterations, Nicoleta made herself become the epitome of what she considered a 'strong woman'--someone who was always heard, and someone who got what they wanted.
With this rebellious age, Nicoleta took the steps to give her family a headache. She partied a lot, went out, and did whatever the hell she wanted. She developed the mindset that she was invincible, the ultimate sexy, the most intelligent and the one who always wins. Against her parents’ wishes, she took a year off of college and ran away to Paris with her girlfriend, a young woman she planned to marry. Yet Paris loved her more, and it bewitched her.
One thing led to another. First of all, her girlfriend left her for another woman. Though that left her with nothing in Paris, she had her own ways of navigation--and it included the tongue. Then, through communications and relationships, she went from gymnastics, to dance, to modeling, and to acting, which further pushed her education career behind. Her wit made her likeable, and her tendency to lie and cheat helped her even further. Relationships became trysts with ‘powerful’ people, men and women who paved the way to her career. Her first film in Paris as an actress set her name among the stars.
Her identity was the talk of France, and it quickly planted the seeds in Romania as well. Nicknamed ‘Lynx’ because of her role as a villainess. Needless to say, Nicoleta loved playing villainess. Her adult life was the total flip of her childhood, and it felt like a dream. Yet these dreams became a nightmare much too quick for a fancy.
But because of mistakes, bad friends, and publicity, her fame was short-lived, and she was quickly forgotten when she took a hiatus on acting. The betrayals she went through were deeply carved insults, and she swore that she was going to best everyone who had slighted her.
Nicoleta did not fare too well with the fall of grace. She turned around, spent half a year to get hitched with a Parisian billionaire, and then moved to California. After figuring out that he was becoming bankrupt, their glamorous life became dull, She divorced him, under the pretense that she was devastated over his ‘fertility problem’, and then walked away with half of his fortune.
Using her wealth to use, she opened a gymnasium with an athletic focus on gymnastics. But well, bad financial decisions lead her to some serious debt, but one pricey gymnasium remains open in Beverly Hills. Because Nicoleta had been awfully mean to her workers (to her defense, they were a lot of personality clashes), she didn’t have as many loyalties.
Seeing that her strength didn't include anything financial, she dedicated some time to stunt acting and minor acting, which is faring well for her. Nicoleta aims to become more successful in America as a vengeful act against the stardom that had spit her out.
